This tool processes text in this tab without sending it to a server. Characters are counted as Unicode code points.
How to use Word Counter
Paste a draft into the text area. Counts update after a short pause, so you can edit and see the effect without submitting the text. Use Update counts for an immediate refresh. Reset clears the draft and returns the counters to zero.
A practical example
Hola mundo. Una nueva idea. gives five words and two sentences. A blank line starts a new paragraph; a single line break does not.
What to check before using the result
Characters means Unicode code points, including spaces and line breaks. A combined emoji can contain several code points. Word and sentence boundaries use the browser’s Spanish segmenter when available, with a simpler fallback on older browsers. Abbreviations and unusual punctuation can affect sentence totals.
Frequently asked question
Does the word count include numbers?
Standalone numeric tokens can count as words. Treat the figure as a practical writing measure, not an examination marking rule.
