How to use Remove Duplicate Lines
Place one item on each line. Choose whether matching should ignore surrounding spaces and letter case, then select Remove duplicates. The first original line is retained, and the order of the remaining lines is unchanged.
A practical example
The lines “Madrid”, “Sevilla”, “Madrid” become “Madrid”, “Sevilla”. With Ignore letter case enabled, “MADRID” also matches “Madrid”.
What to check before using the result
This compares whole lines rather than meaning. Similar sentences are not automatically duplicates. Blank lines are also compared, so multiple blank lines collapse to one. Ignoring surrounding spaces affects matching only; the first retained line keeps its original spacing.
Frequently asked question
Does the tool sort my list?
No. It preserves the order of first occurrences. Use a spreadsheet or a separate sorting workflow if you need an alphabetical list.
